Baseball and Fall

Cute isn't it? We saw this display at a flower shop today when we were out shopping. It seems like every year, Halloween gets a little bit bigger in Japan.

Anyway, we were so sad today when we found out that we wouldn't be able to watch the Yankees game this weekend because of the time difference. Not quite sure that waking up at 4 a.m. is worth it....grr...hopefully, we will be able to catch at least one post season game....hopefully.... I would love to go to New York next summer to watch a weekend full of baseball....or in the winter to see all of the Christmas lights....pretty much anytime would be great!

Also, today's weather was cool enough to actually wear long sleeves. Yay! So, we had a fall like dinner to get into the season.

Pork chops, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, and fried apples. I added vanilla extract to the apples along with butter, cinnamon, and ginger...they were soo good....may make them again tomorrow!!

  2. I saw lots of Halloween decorations when I was in Japan last week. I didn't know it was celebrated there. Disneyland also had a Halloween theme.

Lisa - Halloween isn't really celebrated....just decorated for...hahaha...but Disney is the best place to go to get the feel of Halloween...

  4. Please share the recipe for those fried apples! I see some of the ingredients above, but how long do you fry them for and how much of each do you use to add the right flavor? Sounds like a great fall treat!
